This game is fun to play and sometimes annoying because you might get the short stick in a dungoen and get your butt kick.. other then that it's awesome game. with awesome music.. Out of all the mystery dungeon games that I've played this is probably the most frustrating one. I've been looking for another dungeon crawler game for awhile now but sadly this game didn't fill the void.In pokemon mystery dungeon the games were hard yes but atleast they allowed you to save while youre in the dungeon. Its not even the losing of your items I have a problem with its mostly you get this feeling that everything is going well until you get screwed over by RNG which makes going back to the dungeon upon defeat annoying as hell.Gameplay was fine its just not so polished imo. I've found that just starting a dungeon with the only equipment being your weapons and shield is better than getting prepared by stocking up on other items since you'll just lose all your items anyway if you fail. Dying in a dungeon wouldn't be too bad if you had revive items be alittle more common or atleast somewhat expensive so that you can grind money then purchase them so exploration could be a bit more tame while still being challenging. Not being able to keep your levels outside of a dungeon is a unique concept but really its not so great since to level up in a dungeon, you have to constantly fight enemies everytime you return to one making exploring and/or clearing a dungeon more time consuming.Story, soundstrack, graphics etc were all fine but overall I can't say I liked this game very much. Then again I wasn't expecting too much from a Compile Heart/Idea Factory game that wasn't Neptune. If you enjoy this game then that's awesome but for me it wasn't my cup of tea.. I wanted to keep this short, but I couldn't. I really tried... but I commend anyone for reading this as you just saved yourself 20 bucks.I really wanted to like this game but the combination of a roguelike and anime just isn't for me. It's mostly the fault of anime anyway, you won't know what to expect especially in a fantasy setting. For the record, let me state that I am a fan of roguelikes. Having played similar games to this from the classic era, I have enjoyed games like Torneko: The Last Hope, Chocobo's Dungeon, and Shiren the Wanderer, coinidentally all by the same developer. But this game... well.. plays very similar to the above 3 but the only problem is that it's just tooooooo easy. It's not a challenge and so it doesn't have that roguelike feeling. In fact while playing this game all I could think of is if the game gets any more difficult or is this the "anime syndrome" where the main focus isn't the game itself but the story it is painfully trying to tell.I don't know what the critics were thinking about this game being too difficult. In fact this is one of the easiest roguelikes I have ever played in my life. And this goes to show you... did these critics even play the game? No I don't think so, they most likely played for 20 minutes, died and said "ok game's hard but fun, let's move on to the Fortnite review".The story tries to get somewhere but is always interrupted by side characters that offer next to no support during your adventures. It's played out so much that many MANY times I just wanted them to shut the **** up.Throughout your adventures you are stopped by annoying, dense, and obnoxious idiots that can't shut the hell up about what they want to do to you. Three so called failed "heroes" want to steal this recipe you got at the beginning of the game for making the ultimate curry(the main goal of the game is to venture into dungeons to find ingredients for making this item). Some evil lord who looks 30 years old wants to propose to your main character, who looks 15 years old. A friendly little girl that keeps appearing out of nowhere preaches about "curry auras" that even after I beat the whole game I have absolutely NO FREAKING IDEA what she's talking about. And a guy who only ONCE inappropriately introduces himself as a result gets everyone in the whole game to start branding him as a pervert, DESPITE him never doing anything inappropriately at all... but everyone is ok that an evil lord proposes to a little girl. It's fine that there needs to be some kind of villain in the story, BUT, even though all of this crap is played out comically... it is drawn out EVERY SINGLE scene and chapter that it gets so damn annoying to point where you just want to play the game and not read the stupid scene over and over again. I'm dead serious, every 3 floors you go down in a dungeon you run into someone annoying saying the same crap you expect them to. Really, you wished they would just SHUT THE **** UP. It's not funny and it's annoying. And about the ultimate curry? Some lady tells you about it only for the game to lie in your face about her true intentions of wanting this ultimate curry. It's not satisfying once you read it...As for the gameplay portion, I have already stated that it is an easy game. This was probably the intention of the developers as their prime focus was mainly the story, but trust me on this, it's a big pile of garbage.Bosses die in 3 or 4 hits (search my videos of me beating the last boss), there's very limited inventory space as you can never expand how much you can carry, 75% of the items you find (aside from weapons and armor) do absolutely nothing, and the gameplay gets interrupted every 3 floors you venture down by pointless storytime. At some points I really did enjoy the gameplay despite it being easy, but then it gets interrupted and you're forced to read, it just kills the game. You can skip the dialogue but I just had to see if any of this is relevant... it isn't.Your companion follows you around in dungeons and helps out by attacking. But more often than not it's a huge hinderance as it never gets any stronger unless you feed it. But that's not the problem, it ALWAYS rushes head first into battle, blocking your way, so any hopes of strategically positioning yourself so that the enemy comes to you first for you to get in the first attack is never possible. Also your companion's AI is so screwed up around treasure chests that it starts moving away from you on its own. I can't explain this, nor do I even know what's going on. Your pet is as useless and pointless as the story but was put in as the game's "hunger meter".You can also make curry in the game but guess what? It's also almost useless because the curry you make turns into a usable item for you to use any time on you or throw it at your pet. It gives stat buffs and experience boosts. However if you keep this curry and go down a dungeon floor, it becomes cursed and you absolutely don't want to eat this. The problem with making the curry is it requires THREE specific items and they take up so much space if you keep them in your inventory. Oh and over 20 recipes of curry, about 95% of them do the same exact thing. What a wasted potential.Oh and by the way, how much experience points do you need to reach the next level? Nobody knows, the devs FORGOT to include a number or a progress bar to keep track of your progress. This is probably why the game is so easy because you never need to keep track of this as the levels naturally come to you. Before I end, you know how I mentioned a few times that most of the items are just useless. Looking at the description of these items barely gives you an idea of what they do. The item compendium in the game does give you "some" more information but unless you have good memory or are using gamefaqs you'll never remember what each item does. You can aruge it's roguelike at its finest and I agree, I like that idea but the problem is most of these items ultimately DO NOTHING. It's a roguelike but at the same time it mocks you by randomly generating crap you can't use. No wonder it's so easy, you don't need to use any items at all! In conclusion, unless you're into anime and just want a relaxing (easy) game, I would stay away from it. This game really plays like the mystery dungeons series and I guess you can say it pays homage to it (especially when playing with a controller). Actually, this game would probably be more enjoyable on a mobile/handheld version (which does exist) but for a PC game? It's absolute garbage and a waste of time. Sorry if I'm being biased here but I guess what I'm trying to say here is it's not worth your time if you play it on PC.Final score: 4/10. Probably was too generous. I haven't run into any glitches besides a harmless camera glitch so that's a plus... I guess. But here's something that will get you into wanting to play this game: It's got a loli that doesn't wear any clothes but is wearing BARELY enough to cover herself. Enjoy... you sick perverts.. Being a fan of games like Reccettear and A Bar Story i was expecting something similar from this game. Sadly this game is nothing like those games, and even as a rouge dungeon crawler its frustrating as all hell. RNG is the name of the game here, you live and die by RNG. There is also a lot of hidden mechanics that are not explained well, i died multiple times by just using an item wrong or missunderstanding what an item said. The voice acting is good enough, the music is ok but gets super repetetive. There is no incentive here to actually play the game. You get nothing for grinding, except better weapons and shields. But if you die, you lose all your stuff so all that grinding doesn't even matter. The story or lack thereof is cute and funny at first but gets repetive and insanely boring after 4-5 hours. Nothing new or even interesting happens. Not to mention to even get the full ending you have to beat a dungeon with over 200 floors. No thanks. I tried looking up the ending but no one has even recorded the ending, just written down the dialouge. I did not miss much. I can see this being fun in short spurts on a portable system like the Vita but as a sit down and play for many hours game, it absolutely fails. I cannot recommend this game, unless you play it for an hour at a time.. Cute dungeon game with aot of story. It reminds me alot of pokemon mystery dungeon. Come watch 1st 25ish minutes gameplay if you like :D https://youtu.be/8HszE3FRcac. Not recommended for diabetic folks. It was released on my birthday and it was the best cake I could have asked for.. Kind of on the fence about this game. It's fun, gameplay is decent enough, though nothing special, and a few oddities here and there which are an annoyance more than anything. Storyline is as bizarre as you'd expect from a game of this title, you very much know what you're getting in to, but my biggest criticism of the game is probably that it seems too fast. It throws all the characters at you right at once, it's like it's trying to rush through the story as quickly as possible, which doesn't bode well for the complete time of the game.Overall, there are better games of the genre out there, it just about succeeds in the mechanics of the game, and to be fair, the story so far did illicit a couple of laughs... so I recommend it, but not strongly, and if you aren't already in to this niche of game, this does nothing at all to change your opinion.. Check your hardware before buying. If your processor is too old, you can't run the game. It will crash on startup. Mine is Intel Core i5-2520M - it supports only up to DirectX 10.1. Game requires DirectX 11.. It doesn´t open on my laptop, it has the DirectX 12 card with Intel Corei5, but I don´t know what´s the problemin an old laptop at least the game opens but is slow the gameplayI need help to play it in my laptop, please
